Quinn Therm Ltd takes pride in the environment in which it operates and is committed to protection of it through best practice techniques and management and promotion of environmental awareness, participation and competence.
QUINN-therm Ltd manufactures a Zero ODP (Ozone Depletion) product, due to the blowing agent used, which makes it an environmentally friendly process. It also implements a policy of pooling transport of final product with other QUINN-group insulation Divisions to reduce emissions on transport to the market.
The company is IPPC Licensed under P0739-01 and is therefore regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The license outlines the terms of operation with which the QUINN-therm Ltd facility must adhere to at a minimum to ensure that there is no adverse impact on the environment and also to reduce potential risk of impact into the future. QUINN-therm Ltd is committed and fully compliant to the terms of this license.
QUINN-therm Ltd wanted to take the management standards a step further and also became accredited to an environmental management system under ISO 14001:2004. This standard, ISO 14001:2004, is an internationally recognised standard that demonstrates best environmental management and ensures continual improvement on an ongoing basis.
QUINN-therm Ltd ensures that our employees have a high level of awareness of environmental issues and have been trained on the environmental issues specific to each role within the manufacturing process.
All aspects which have the potential to impact on the environment are measured and there are plans of improvement in each one including noise emissions, energy consumption, water consumption, waste arising, emissions from the process.
QUINN-therm Ltd has a waste management system in place. This includes the implementation of the hierarchy of waste management including elimination of waste arising on the production lines, maximisation of segregation and recycling of cardboard, plastic, wood, steel and only approved waste contractors are used.
Significant investment has been made to reduce and control emissions to air and water, and the facility has relatively minor risk of impact on the environment.
